With the implementation of vst, It´s also possible to use the ´ducking´-effect . Well, someone seems to have a bit of a duck fetish. I always thought this "Ducking" effect was known as a "Pumping" effect, where the drum in pumped right on through past everything else. Eh, either way, that effect always works well Actually, I've been looking for the exact pumper VST thingo... puts on download list

So... "ducking" means getting all or some specific sounds (ex. hihats) to decrease volume suddenly so that a specific sound (ex. bassdrum) can be heard without interference? Is that correct? Hmm, it's like the bassdrum bullies out the hihats. Or the bassdrum is cutting into the line.

well sidechain compression is a compressor that reacts to another channel then the one that's being compressed.

Yes,

In the demo-mp3 the bassdrum pushes away the rest of the percussion, instead of the clap at the end.

Producers sometimes use it, for mixing the kick and bass so the low tones don´t interfere with eachother.
