To answer your question: no. The drums hold no relation with the music, the chords sound detuned (caused by the horns), and there is no general drive. The crashride is probably twice too hard.
Thing is: I like the idea. If you manage to get rolling drums (go here), a good foundation of the melody section (especially the horns sound promising, but it doesn't fit the strings properly at the moment), and a low bassline to give the song a decent drive (might wanna use this), then it might get you somewhere.
Apart from that: previews in 256 kpbs is like getting a 50 inch spoiler on your bike. There still are some morons (Toffe!) with dailup connections out there, and I guess you don't want to discharge them from giving feedback, don't you?
Let us know when you changed stuff. Always interested in fresh dnb

well, you're on the right bpm for DnB, but to be honest, this really does sound like the result of only 1h of work. If you want to get to the real DnB then you need to put down a lot more work in the drums. Put in some barely audible snare hits here and there, add some shakers and other percussions etc. It's all in the small things when it comes to DnB, in my opinion at least. |

I must agree here...
Get some drum loops and have some fun with them...

PimpJuse, how long you been tracking? It seems like an ok start, its way early to put judgement on it for its really abstract right now. yea the cymbol could be turned down but it depends on were "you" want to go with it. Thier is a good foundation in anything that sounds, just keep at it and dont stop till your convinced, wait a day (a whole day without listening to it/ maybe even more) then listen and see what you think. I've noticed some severe scaring of the mind when listening to a song over and over again and again, Its not bad but after awhile you can tell when your getting burned out. Over all thou, if this were the final, eeh. but as a template or very very rough draft its something with lots of places it could go(potential). good luck and keep tracking |

thx for the feedback... yah
like i said 1 hour.. right after i rendered this I killed that crash faster than antibiotics on clamydia... from what i hear
anyways.. yes i agree and im not saying thats going to be all the drums.. hell no. ok wait a bit and ill put another render.
about the drumloop thing.. im just not all about drum loops. i just like trying to make the things myself. then i can call it mine and all that jazz..
but... i will return. actually maybe ill work on it tonite and show you how different it sounds.. but i probably wont.
:addage:
ok i worked on it a bit more and i reduced the bitrate to 128kps
so feedback me again.. i dont know i kinda like this now. but is it d&b... thnx again. ( i overwrote the last vers )

definetly going in the right direction. Drums are getting there, but I'd perhaps bring the shakers a bit more upfront. Both the kick and the snare are a bit dominant at the moment. I'm not too conviced of the alto-violin or whatever it is you've got going there. Think it's too dry and it sounds a bit like it was played in a bathroom. More reverb and not such a quick decay would probably help there.
I like the flute thingy, think it fit the tune well, but there again perhaps a bit more reverb or something that would space it out more. |
