the drivers are free. www.kxproject.com
good luck, its pretty tricky to get all the things in the mixer DSP thing wired up properly (you'll see what i mean). so if you need help with that, we can meet on IRC and i'll show u what goes where.

heh, as LoneStar might know I installed those drivers some time ago for the second time, the first time I had to reinstall my computer this time the result was less painfull. But it still bugs me that I can't record anything anymore, seems like someone on ctgmusic.com had a simular problem with the KX drivers, he also had some problems with midi? And no, I didn't install the new beta. |

KX drivers are not that hard to work with. the Help files on the website are helpful. Other users of the kxdrivers aree helpful too, such as myself. I'll have to go back and read the other messages in this thread, but I*ll help you as best I can. |

pimpjuse - creative labs, being cheap and shitty, don't actually come with asio support on their software. creative software is bullshit. if you plan to buy any creative labs card with an EMU chip (like the audigy), i recommend getting some semi-professional quality drivers for it, like for example the KX PROJECT drivers. they are by far the best drivers available to use on creative labs soundcards, and they also enable asio support for the cards..
i hope this straightens things out..

Wich means that there are build in effects you can use, and you can even use your hardware FX units via send/return on the breakout box to use them as an VST!
|
whoaaa.. would this mean i could plug it into my mixer and use effect send/return to trigger effects for my mixer channels? (i.e. the same as plugging a standalone EFX unit into send/return on a dj mixer?)

I don't think these drivers work with the External USB Audigy cards.
I copied this from the driver site:
A. The Extigy and Audigy2 NX cards are NOT 10k1/10k2-based card (most of their functionallity is software-based), and since they are USB audio devices they are not kX-compatible. However, we are currently working on ASIO drivers for these cards. In order to finish we will need test samples -- please donate to our kX Fund in order to help us to support both cards. |

^^ ahh.. well in that case don't buy an audigy ..
toffe: if you like i can send you the .kx file of my DSP. it has everything working nicely for a SB Live card - line in recording can even have a compressor applied to get that 'live' sound and to prevent clipping.
but then again, do you have a SB Live?

that would be so sweet of you mixk, and I do have a sb live card. it would be fun to get my recording to work again without changing back to my old drivers |
