ok, so I hope the next in cue has restarted the chain?

Depends on how you define "restarted"..
|
I mean, if vertikal's entry was banned, then you can't build on that one right? So you'll have to come up with a new intro
|
There's the problem.
I explained to LoneStar when the list was being ordered, that "I cannot for the life of me start a tune easily, unless I know where I want it to go."
Enon.. *sweatdrop* Unless you're willing to invest in a high-powered (and currently non-existing) brick-launcher, and shoot down Vertikal's vacation plane so that he can come back and cut down the number of tracks he's used, it probably won't happen.
LoneStar.. Well, if you're willing...
You mentioned that idea earlier too. Double-action, eh?
I'm all for it! Mainly because it'd get this chain started (at last! )

 |
Hi,
I`ve just returned, and I´ve seen the post. What happenned? I read the rules, and I´m into the rules. These were:
- No Vst is allowed
(There is no VST in my song)
- 512 lines max for each artist devided in patern size he likes to use.
(My song has 512 lines)
- 4 instruments total for each artist
(My song has 4 instruments, but more samples)
- 4 mb "total" instrument size (combined)
(My song has less of 4 Mb)
- 96 hours max including downloading and uploading file
(N.A.)
- All instruments will haver there own track that will be labbled proparly by the artist introducing them into the song, "including instrument number" If multible tracks are needed for strings etc lable these tracks as string 1 / string 2 etc
(All tracks are labeled properly)
- Adjusting paterns of the artist "before" you is allowed "only" for blending in your part!
(N.A.)
- The beginning artist decides the lpb and bpm, everyone is allowed to change it in his part as long as it keeps the song going!
(I chosed it)
Aditional rules:
- The timer does not reset! Meaning that the planning will remain at all costs. You are allowed ofcourse to upload your part before the timer reaches zero.
- Every artist will recieve a mail 12 hours ahead of his start
- After the chain has finished there will be a mixdown competition including prizes, everyone is allowed to particapate! The final file will be an mp3 for that competition so all gadgets and pluggins are allowed to make "our' work even better. When the competition is finished, "we" the artists of the chain will vote for the winner of this competition.
- Organisation is allowed to ban artists or parts of there entry of the chain without any reason.
I´ve observed the rules exactly. If I´ve been banned for another rules that are not written, I think this is not serious.
I thought all styles were allowed. Don´t you like trance? What happenned? I need an explanation. |
Greetings,
VertiKal |

what happened simply was that you used 18 or so channels out of 64. Considering there are aprox 30 people in line AFTER you, who might want to add some instruments, and each instrument was supposed to get it's own channel (according to rules)... It doesn't take a whole lot of math to figure out that 30 people can't all use 18 channels for their own parts when there is a max of 64+8 channels available. I think you understand where the problem is, right? |

youre right Sunbuster, but rules doesnt tell anything about number of tracks... it should to be written, for example: 4 new tracks for one artist... |

well we can use automation to change effects by not just using enable effect but doing it through automation, wont that change effects for your part and keep the artist before still intact?
but i guess its alittle late for this |

Hi,
I understand that point. Well, it might be written in the rules. I have adjust y song to the rules. I you will agree that channels are reusable. That what I thought.
That because I do not agree with being out.
Thank you. |

It probably should... on the other hand you're allowed to use some common sence also
vertikal: you're not out of the game completely, your part just got rejected and you'll get your chance later again. In fact, Pyrozane was talking about giving you my time (which starts on saturday) since I'm not around to do anything this weekend anyway. You should contact him or Factor or LoneStar directly about this. |

Thanx Sunbuster, those were exeactly the reasons why we decided to bann vertikal's entry
Quote: |

Vertikal, your not out, you get a second change to make a part, In the post we did mentioned that you will be placed at back of the entry list
While setting up the rules, we hoped that people were able to inmagine, and it was also discussed before in madchaining topics, that every "instrument" would get his own track. And by an instrument we meant using difrent samples based on the main sample of the instrument (dificult to explain) Mikx gave us a good example on his chain part by adding a normal crash and a "reverse" crash in his instrument.
Also for some piano sounds multisamples are sometimes used, but as you all understand, all these difrent samples are the "same" piano.
About the number of tracks, 4 is from now one the maximum unless people can give a "realy" realy good reason for it (in that case I advice you to mail me or Lonestar "before uploading" about your idea or send a private message so we can discuss it )
And than my second small request:
I would like to see that every artist from now one just gives us a personal inpresion of what he added in the songs commentry box. Don't have to be a long story, just explain why you added something, or changed the song gerne etc. (this would also help the next one in line)
Last 2 chains we did with only 32 tracks, now we have 64 but we have more then 30 people, I hope you guys have respect for these aditional rules.
I apologize to all chainers, that the rules I set up in the beginning, weren't clear about this subject.
Enjoy chaining

Yes, but you should not assign every sample of the multisample to a different track, but you should try to use every sample of the multisample in the same track (since you can only use four tracks).
