I just got mt and I want to know if it's of any use to make hardcore tracks. Don't know anything about using it yet, but I'll figure that one out soon enough (I hope)

If it is useable, does anyone have samples or knows links to samples that are commenly used for hardcore tracks (hard beats etc.)???

Quite a lot Dutch hardcore producers use or used MadTracker for both productions as livesets (for instance members of Masters Of Hardcore, Re-Noise and DJ Hidden). There is (or was) a Dutch hardcore community that also gives MadTracker-specific examples of how to produce hardcore inside MadTracker. Check out http://groups.msn.com/hardcoreplanet (you need to become a member, and I'm not certain if they are still active) for more information on that.

Conclusion: yes, MadTracker is more than suitable for producing hardcore (especially with the VST support, so you can use the JunoX2 plugin for massive hoovers, mentasms and other distorted hardcoresynths).

Look what I´ve found in the memberlist:

Ophidian is a respected hardcore producer in Holland, His tracks appear on several popular hardcore-compilations, like "thunderdome" & "Human Demolition".
Maybe he can give you some more advise, although I doubt Madtracker is the only tool he uses Wink .

Madtracker is a good tool for making all kinds of music, including Hardcore.

hi guys, Yannick passed me this link.

Yes I do release a lot of hardcore (and other style) records and Yes I do use madtracker a lot.

Although I use a lot of other hardware and software to create tracks I usually use MT for something or other in almost every song. Some tracks (like Scrapmetal and Traces of Insanity for those who know them) have been entirely arranged in MT2.

I think MT is a perfect tool for dance music, certainly for beginners because it's easy to learn to make noise with it Smile
