Mad Tracker And Reason?

Hi there!

Is there a way to sync MT with Reason?
I need MT and Reason to start at the same time.

Thanks.
/D.

Isn't that what rewire support is for? don't know, haven't used it myself, but I think all you need to do is add Madtracker as a rewire device in Reason or something

This is not possible with any other program than Rebirth. Reason is in Rewire mode namely a synth (not a host), and MadTracker too is a synth (not a host). Reason can only be a host for Rebirth (which, logically, is a synth).

Hope that helps.

Could you rewire MT and Reason into, for example, Cubase at the same time?

Question

or should be able to, i for 1 would like to use sonar, however i have not gotten the rewire capability of mt2.5 to work yet, and have been to busy to mess with it anymore. It was my understanding that that would be taken care of in 2.5, but were still in alpha so it might be a while. Yannick, do you know when rewire support will be fixed/improved/pollished?

so this means we can use rebirth as an instrument in madtracker? if so, how do i do it?

uuh, I think what Inge meant is that only Rebirth can host the synths, so you can only use Madtracker as a synth in Rebirth, not Rebirth in Madtracker.

My goodness, do your reading, young lads Wink

Rewire software can be
1: synth (sound generator)
2: host (shell for one or more synths)
3: both (either synth or host)

A synth works inside a host. MadTracker is a synth, so it only works inside a host. Reason is a synth, so it only works inside a host. Exception: Reason can be a host for Rebirth (this is a kinda vague construction, but it's nothing else than true).

Right? Right.

Well, if rebirth is a synth too, you could always link rewire rebirth and madtracker to cubase. Would be quite cpu heavy, but perhaps you could program your 303 lines, and then export the thing as wav, and then loading it into madtracker again or something. You'll probably find some kind of work-a-round

what is hip?

In theory: certainly. Everything should be synced via Rewire.

Yannick: get on with this rewire stuff! Smile
