Buffers and stuff...

Hi there,
Now I know I'm probably being lazy but I'm wondering if anyone has found the perfect buffer settings for a SBLive! Value soundcard (ID: SB0100)? Pray
I'm getting really irritated with it - I either get accurate display or accurate audio and never the twain shall meet.
Any tips? I'm running 2.3 RC5 on Win98SE, P3 600EB, 256M RAM.
Yes, I have read the FAQ, and yes I have played with the settings till I'm blue in the face.

2.3 RC5

Isn't that kind of an old version? Or do you mean 2.5 RC5?

I use 4 buffers and a size of 30 (I use the KX drivers). Try with a size of 10 and increase in steps of ten until it sounds good for you. That should work.

Yes, 2.5 RC5. Embarassed
Thanks for the tip. I've been using Directsound which has given me the best result but chews CPU time. I have yet to get 2.5 RC5 working without crashing on my system, but that's another issue entirely. Looking forward to the next major update... patiently.

I have gotten 8 buffers and size 10 using an audigy 1 and using the kx wave device.
