Overkill on question marks, much? o_O
Midi or USB midi (they're both midi, does it really matter?) with knobs, assign a filter with VST, record events then fix with automation...
You mean, record music from a USB/Midi keyboard that has knobs, route the recorded track to a VST-Enhanced track, then use automation to control the keyboard knobs?
Sweet zombie Jeebuz on a pogo stick, man. Can't you just, y`know, make it EASIER, record what you wanna record, then add all the fancy effects with VST, without screwing around with getting the keyboard knobs to work with automation?
Just a suggestion. Your idea might be possible now, or it might mean waiting until this "Finer Live Recording" is supported in MadTracker...

About the finer live recording, MT does not currently support that, but it is planned. It might be in the final version of 2.5.

You can not control the automation or the plugins from MIDI with MT2. This will be for MT3.
