1: http://anticapslock.com/files/RemoveIt.avi
2: MadTracker can only read S3M and IT files. It cannot save modules loaded in these formats. MadTracker can save as .XM (old FastTracker format) and .MT2 (MadTracker native format).
3: MadTracker is quite different from eJay. EJay (as far as I know) simply is an organizing/structuring tool to combine existing sequences/melodies/loops into new compositions. MadTracker, on the other hand, primarily is meant to work sample/VST wise. This means that you work with single notes (yes, don't be afraid, existing melodies exist out of single notes), which you organize (chords, some geeks call these) into new melodies (indeed. You need to be creative and stuff.).
Take a look at http://beatmax.madtracker.net/mt2tutor/ to learn how MadTracker works. Furthermore, download some songs from http://www.madtracker.org/music.php to see what the practical end result of MadTracker songs is.
Conclusion: yes, it's a steep learning curve. But even we, regular forum users, mastered it. Some fast, some slow, but essentially, our lives got better*

dude, while you're tracking, press the "Tab" key on your keyboard, this will move the recording across to the next "track", this way you can move back and forth between tracks. Just click the instrument you want to track with, then either click the record button, or press space - then start recording, and press tab when you want to move to another track. Hopefully i've explained this well enough, if not - i'm sure Inge can help..
take care dude, hav fun trackin!! ..i know i will |

Some *very* important keyboard shortcuts:
tab: move to track right
shift-tab: move to track left
space: enable/disable recording
pageup/pagedown: move 16 cells up/down in the current pattern
shift/ctrl/alt+f3: cut current track/pattern/selected area
shift/ctrl/alt+f4: copy current track/pattern/selected area
shift/ctrl/alt+f5: paste current track/pattern/selected area
f1/f2: change current octave one down/up
Furthermore, start playing with the mixer, fx panel and automation as soon as possible. They will become your best friends. You can find them in the middle, indicated by a graph/FX/envelope.

i never knew about the F1 and F2 shortcut.. and i've been tracking for years!!! ....hahaha.. but yeah, the other shortcuts come in VERY handy.. as for automation, i'm still trying to figure that out.. i can never seem to get the effects working the way i like.. but i'm still working with it, i'll get it some time |
