get a compressor with some normal controls i'd say, this one is kinda experimental.
get one with threshold, ratio, attack, release and make up gain. much easier to handle. Kjaerhus classic compressor works fine for me.

Yeah, I was thinking as I got home last night: That compressor didn't even have a ratio control.
Anyway, XnmE, maybe try a release time closer to 100 ms as well, as I had a look at some other compressor presets, and that seemed to be a common value. I mostly use 30-50 ms on the Waves LinMB multiband compressor. |

yah, a multiband compresser is the way to go.
i remember an akai 4 band compressor that works really well
a multiband compressor is better because its like an eq and a compressor all in one and you can come up with a more pro sound that way. because if you had a lot of midrange in your song, a single band compressor would normalize to the strongest signal and tone down the whole sound instead of isolating the midrange and boosting the low and highs. |
