.xm and LPB

When making .xm's with MT2, LPB is set to 4 by default.
I just tried to change it to 8 in some of my songs, only to notice that MT2 doesn't remember those changes despite the fact that I saved the files in question. The LPB will still be set to 4 the next time I open them.

Is it supposed to be that way or is it a bug? And if it's intentional, may I ask why?
I'm using 2.5.0 RC6, by the way.

Thanks in advance.

The XM format does not support the concept of LPB, that's why.
Instead, the tempo is converted.

Yes, I noticed that it doesn't affect the tune in the same way as it affects an .mt2.
With LPB set to 4, the BPM is stated to be twice as high as it really is, and when LPB is set to 8 the BPM is accurate. At least in my case.

So it's definitely not a big deal, heh. I was just curious. Thanks for your reply.

.XM waveexport missing

Hi!

Now I've just found the following:

I have an old song in .xm format, made years ago. Now its time has come to be released (and used for a movie), and converted to madtracker, to be able to export to .wav.
But even after converting to madtracker .mt2,
the wave export gets disabled.

Other .mt2-s are exported without any problem, and of course I'm a registered user.

Any solution? Logically it could not be happened...

I presume the XM was saved in MT2 before being converted? With some earlier version of MT, there was a bug which made an XM no more "exportable".

In the MT2 conversion, do you see your name as the creator in the song properties window?

The steps of the conversion (version rc6):

Load the xm.
Switch to mode Madtracker. (does this step make a conversion? I suppose)
Save the file as .mt2 (File/Save automatically offers the extension.)

(I cannot reply now to your "creator" question, I'm at an other machine. Early in the evening I can reply)

Where to check this creator? Question
or what else do you mean by conversion, if not that "switch to .xm mode" ? Shocked

(my about box is correct, name appears, and the wave export for original mt2-t worx) Arrow

(I got Mod4Win, so I have another method to export this xm to wav)

A solution

Finally I got a solution - maybe not too legal. Embarassed

I started my hexa-hacker editor, and compared an original Madtracker file vs. my .xm->.mt2 file. Idea

At the beginning of the file there were some differences, I fixed it, and after reloading my converted file I am able to export that wav Smile Twisted Evil

If any info required for any bugfixing, just mail me or something. Exclamation
