Posted: Sun Sep 18 2005 23:02 Classic EQ plugin just drain down my CPU powers! |
 |
Hi
In a song I usually ends up quite fast with about 10-20 EQs for the different tracks, and ClassicEQ doesn't "show" that the CPU is overloaded in the CPU monitor inside MadTracker, but as you add more of the plugins in your VST list, you feel the mouse going slower to it just can't handle anymore - a suddenly CPU meltdown - whereas Madtracker just freezes!
Here is my PC Spec:
Compaq Evo D510 CMT with 512MB RAM
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~2259 Mhz
If anyone have a better and more CPU friendly suggestion to EQ within MT2, that is as easy to work with as the ClassicEQ interface, I am eager to try new suggestions.

You could try the LinearPhaseGraphicEQ.
If you can get a hold of ParisEQ, I know that one is pretty fast to use. Unfortunately, it seems the author of that plugin has vanished (btw. if anyone has the ParisEQ on their HDD, it would be cool if you could mail it to me, or post a link here).
Other than that, I'd use madtrackers built in EQ's as far as possible, they should be the most optimised after all |
