Hello all..
I'm having problems opening MIDI files.
I can load them in, and get the sequence running, but with no audio, I'm trying to replace each instrument with a WAV sample, but it doesn't seem to work.. can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?
thankyou! |

Hmmm, I loaded a MIDI file and had no problems at all with it.
That doesn't help you at all, so let's see if we can figure out what's wrong. If I understand you correctly, all the data from the MIDI loads into the tracks correctly? (that is, you see all the pitches and instruments), but you're not hearing anything?
When you load an MT2 file, does that play okay?
Also, are you using the most recent version of MT2? I vaguely recall there being a problem with MIDI import in some of the earlier versions... I'll go check on that. |

yeah, all standard sample based tracker files load ok.
now, the thing is i'm using a specialist sound card,(RME hammerfall) so that may be affecting midi playback..
in all honesty, the actual midi playback isn't a problem, I wanted to replace the midi sounds with samples, but I'm having a problem doing that too... I can load a sample into the instruments that come up when a midi file is loaded, but it doesnt seem to play either.
and yes, it's the very latest version of MT2.. |

Make sure you uncheck the MIDI in the instrument synth. tab after you loaded samples in it.
