Hi there,
I still wonder how to control VSTi (e.g. MicroTonic), that are pattern-based in themselves. I don`t know how to activate the edited patterns in MicroTonic via putting notes to a Madtracker track. The solution may be simple but I don`t get it... |

I guess you mean switching between patterns?
pattern a: C-3
pattern b: C#3
pattern c: D-3

Tom is right. Almost all virtual machies' pattern-control are ran/looped through regular notes. To me they seem to start at a lower octave though, like pattern 01 = C-1 and so forth. |

First I only had access to the single drum channels of MicroTonic, meaning that C-3/C#-3/D-3 etc. only controlled one instrument (base, hihat, snare etc.). After installing MicroTonic right into the MadTracker\VST directory - as recommended - I got access to the patterns instead of single instruments.
I had already read the notes that C-3/C#-3/D-3 etc. give control to the different patterns of a VSTi, but - believe it or not (I can`t hardly believe it myself) - it did not take effect until you posted your answers! Before, it was always the same drum pattern playing, independent of which key I pressed...
So thanks for your answers, you gave me help, even though in a different way than I thought! |
