Hi every,

I'd like to know more about the optional "New engine" that's choosable in the configuration menu.

Is there any trouble shooting if one shifts to this "New engine" ( experimental ) ?

Peace-
Kriss Wink

you'll need the new engine if you want to use the HT support. however, it has some issues, like buggy volume envelopes and other artefacts, at least it had these the last time i've tried it (which was prolly 2.6.0).

it was/is created by the cumsuckers of Intel.. it was suposed to be a combination of hardware and software (once read the whole explanation somewhere... dont know exactley so dont spank me Razz)

anyway my friend that does an IT study says its bullshit

I think Intel also dropped the whole HT project...

HT ( HyperThreading ) is a feature supported by certain intel chips, it simulates a dualcore chip, in a way it let's the CPU do 2 task at the same time instead of one.

But it doesn't realy make a lot of difference...

PC: P4 HT 3ghz, 1gb ram, 500GB+ Storage, plextor DVD-rw, M-audo Audiophile 2496
Laptop: Apple Powerbook G4 15inch

Hyperthreading is a discontinued feature by Intel.

....Anyways, i use the experimental engine together with the ht/dual core support sometimes.
Some vst instruments and effects don't like the new engine and let mt crash big time.
But it uses both cores of my cpu when turned on, and i can play heavy vsti/e tracks.... so it makes a big difference over here ... It's very buggy though and there are some problems already mentioned by Oldbrain , i think that's why it is called experimental Engine Wink ..

Music ... is endless ... Work in progress ...
